Admission Information for International Students of Guangdong Mechanical and Electrical Polytechnic (GDMEP) of 2020
Guangdong Mechanical and Electrical Polytechnic (GDMEP) is located in Baiyun District of Guangzhou, which is a full-time public higher vocational college under the direct guidance of Department of Education of Guangdong Province. It is granted with the title of the Demonstrative School of Guangdong Province, and is one (listed 10) of 18 the First-Class Higher Vocational School Project of Guangdong Province. The College has two campuses with a total area of nearly 800 acres: the South Campus is alongside the Baiyun Mountain with very convenient transportation and the North Campus is located in Guangzhou Zhongluotan Higher Vocational Education Zone. GDMEP boasts with a long history. It was established in 1963.
GDMEP currently has over 900 teaching staff, 18,000 full-time students. GDMEP boasts an excellent teaching team, including one teacher with the title of National Excellent Staff, one with the title of National Excellent teacher, 6 with the titles of South China(Guangdong) Excellent teachers, 2 with the titles of South China(Guangdong) Excellent staff, one specially-supported Provincial Outstanding Teacher, one with the title of Provincial Leading Personnel in High Vocational Education, 4 with the titles of Provincial Young Excellent Teachers, 2 with the titles of Provincial Technical Expert, etc. Among the teachers, over 28% have the high professional titles, and over 70% boast the master degree or doctor degree.

GDMEP has 10 schools, namely, Schools of Automobile, Schools of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Schools of Electrical Engineering, School of Electronics and Communication, School of Computer and Design, School of Economics and Trade, School of Logistics, School of Foreign Language and International Business, School of Marxism, School of Further Education. Among the majors, there are 2 supported by the central finance, 3 provincial demonstrative majors, 8 key majors, 1 provincial 1st-rating renowned major and 9 provincial 2nd-rating renowned programs. GDMEP has 2 nationally distinguished course and 21 provincially distinguished courses. In recent years, our students have been rewarded 404 prizes, among which there are 67 national prizes and the others are provincial prizes. GDMEP is also known for its teaching excellence. The College has won 2 national teaching achievement awards (second prize), 2 provincial teaching achievement awards (first prize) and 1 provincial teaching achievement award (second prize).
2. Student Status and Enrollment Requirement
2.1 Student Status
International students include diploma and non-diploma students. Diploma students in our college are three-year diploma students. Non-diploma students are students for Chinese language training program.
2.2 Enrollment Requirement
a. Applicants, with good health and good behavior and no criminal record, should abide by Chinese laws and college rules and regulations, respect Chinese customs.
b. Diploma students: A high school graduation certificate is required. Applicants should be in good health, from 16 to 45. Chinese level should achieve the specified level (HSK-3 or higher). If without HSK, students may attend the courses but they cannot be formally registered until he or she gets HSK-3.
c. Chinese training program: Applicants should be in good health, from 16 to 45.A high school graduation certificate is required.

5. Scholarships
All qualified students can apply for the Scholarship from Guangdong Mechanical and Electrical Polytechnic.
6. Application period
6.1 Chinese training program: Spring and autumn session. The application form will be accepted from 1st December to 30th March for the Spring Session and courses start on 15th March. For the Autumn session it will be accepted from 1st June to 15th October and courses start on15th October.
6.2 Diploma program: The application form will be accepted from 1st June to 30th September and courses start early in September.

Admission Notice and JW202 will be issued after all the materials are received and reviewed by college and approved by Guangdong Education Department and Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office.
8. Admission Information
8.1 International students should report to Centre of Foreign Exchange and Cooperation with Admission Notice and JW202 within the specific time and be registered after paying all the fees including tuition fee and books fee in Financial Department. All the fees are not refundable once paid due to students’ person reasons when they quit the school. Admitted students should report in specific time and place according to Admission Notice. If you cannot report on time, you should report to Centre of Foreign Exchange and Cooperation in written form or you will be disqualified.
8.2 International students should report to college within 24 hours upon entry and fill in the REGISTRATION FORM OF TEMPORARY RESIDENCE FOR VISITORS.
